It all began as a tribute to the memory of families ruthlessly driven from their crofts during the Highland Clearances. A descendant who had done well for himself overseas decides to fund a sentimental rebuilding of his ancestor's home, calling in experts to authenticate each relic and to trace the Ross Tapestry.

But when one of his most bitter enemies is murdered, and one of his most conscientious employees finds holes in the basic story and dies in a near tragic historic site, the researchers find themselves caught up in a menacing game.

What dangers now lie in wait for Lady Torrance, as her historical expertise becomes less important than her earlier training as Det. Inspector Lesley Gunn in more violent situations, and 'the Laird and the Law' face a deadly showdown?

In 1971 and '72, John Burke was the Story Editor of two classic horror series on the small screen courtesy of London Weekend Television- 'Tales of Unease' and 'The Frighteners'. The stills on the left are from the opening credits of 'Tales of Unease' and the John Burke penned story 'Calculated Nightmare'.

I recently sourced two episodes from 'Tales' - 'Calculated Nightmare' and 'Ride Ride' (written by Michael Hastings) and it was a true honour to watch them, and John has been given a copy.

These two episodes were extremely hard to get a hold of, but I'm sure that John would love to watch them all - so if anyone has access to any other episodes from either 'Tales' or 'The Frighteners' please don't hesitate to get in touch!
